Marria Evbuoma (she/her, we/us) is a solo parent, zero waste advocate, and educator currently living in Huichin Ohlone land (Oakland, CA). She founded Rotation Community Services in 2022 after noticing how BIPOC, disabled, and low/no folks were largely responsible for the labor of Zero Waste but were hardly ever considered or present in policy decisions that impacted our health and failed to support our communities in the ways that are needed. Her former lives as an Early Childhood Educator, yoga therapist, assistant property manager, a door person at bars and other adventures, help inform her understanding of her work. Marria served on the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission’s Citizen Advisory Committee (SFPUC-CAC) and received a commendation from the SF Board of Supervisors for her environmental and social justice work during the pandemic. Most recently, she completed the StopWaste Environmental Educator Training fellowship on behalf of the Laurel Community Garden, which she manages in the City of Oakland. When she’s not literally talking trash, she enjoys raising and educating her child in a self-directed learning community, writing, gardening, hula hooping, going on trash walks, and making plant potions.
